On July 20, 2024, I experienced significant issues with my SunExpress flight from Düsseldorf to Adana (PNR: AMNA5G). I arrived at Düsseldorf Airport at 17:00, completed check-in, and checked in my luggage. After check-in, I was informed that the flight would depart from Münster instead. We were instructed to retrieve our luggage and travel to Münster by bus, which led to a delay.
My luggage was lost and only found after 40 minutes. I missed the bus to Münster and, after multiple requests, was finally sent by taxi. Due to the luggage mishap, change of airport, and time lost, I was unable to present products worth €734.17 from the tax-free shopping.
Upon arrival in Münster, I was informed that the flight was rescheduled to 22:50. We queued for check-in and boarded at 23:15. We were then left on the plane without air conditioning until 01:20 on July 21. We were instructed to disembark and collect our luggage at 02:34, but there was no information provided until 04:00. Airport staff later informed us that we could take a taxi back to Düsseldorf and invoice SunExpress for the cost, but we struggled to find proper assistance.
Despite multiple calls to customer service with no response until 08:00, we were eventually given a pillow and blanket and told to sleep on the floor. At 16:00, we were told the flight would depart at 21:00, but later it was delayed to 06:00 on July 22. After enduring excessive delays and stress, we requested accommodation, with those having homes sent back and families with children given hotel rooms. Eventually, at 19:00, we were also provided with hotel accommodation.
On July 22, we returned to the airport at 06:00, checked in our luggage at 04:30, and began boarding at 06:45. The flight finally took off at 07:30. The stress from the delays, staff indifference, and having to sleep on the floor is unacceptable. I request compensation for the inconvenience, refund of my flight ticket, reimbursement for the tax-free shopping invoice, and compensation for the workday lost on Monday. If not resolved, I will consider legal action.
