I Face StubHub Purchase Security Issues Over A $916 Concert Ticket Transaction

On June 24, 2026, at approximately 2:30 PM, while looking for 5 tickets for the Marcus Miller concert on June 30 through StubHub, I was asked to enter my credit card information. After entering my American Express credit card details, a total of $916 was charged from my card for 5 tickets without any additional confirmation screen, security verification (such as 3D Secure), or any step asking whether I approved the purchase. The transaction appears on my statement as “StubHub $916.”

For such a high-value transaction, I find it extremely unsafe and unfair to consumers that simply entering card information is considered a “purchase confirmation” without obtaining explicit approval from the user. Moreover, although the tickets were already available for sale, I was not given immediate access to them after my card was charged. Instead, I was informed that the tickets would only be delivered on June 30 at 3:00 PM. In other words, my payment was taken without a clear confirmation step, and the tickets were not provided immediately in return.

When I contacted a customer representative through the website in English, I was told that their system works this way and that entering credit card information is considered payment approval. I do not accept this approach; I consider this transaction to have been completed without my proper consent because no clear approval step was provided.

For this reason, I request that the full $916 payment charged by StubHub be canceled and refunded to me as soon as possible.
