Violent Employee - Pensacola Shell (6403 N 9th Ave, Pensacola, FL)
On August 2, 2026, I experienced an extremely disturbing and threatening incident at the Shell gas station located at 6403 N 9th Ave, Pensacola, FL 32504. I went inside to purchase gas and play the lottery. The employee at the counter failed to return my lottery play slip, and I had to ask for it. I then asked for a receipt for my gas purchase, to which he replied, “You could say please.” When I reacted to that, he said, “I don’t have to give you shit, then” and slammed a voided, blank receipt on the counter while continuing to speak aggressively. The argument escalated, and he then came out from behind the counter as if he was going to initiate a physical confrontation. I removed my glasses and prepared myself, and at that point he stopped and said, “Wait outside ’til I finish with these customers!” I went outside and began pumping my gas at Pump #2. Less than a minute later, he exited the building, walked toward my vehicle to within about 7 meters, and resumed yelling expletives at me, including “B*** a*** m***! Come around the side of the building and I’ll beat your a***!” and “Wait here and I’ll send someone to deal with your a***!” He was also reaching into his pants as if he might be concealing a weapon. This behavior made me feel genuinely unsafe and threatened on your premises. I reported this incident to Shell Customer Service three separate times and was given three different reference numbers. Each time, I was assured the situation would be handled within 10 business days and that I would be contacted. None of these promises were kept, and I have received no follow‑up at all. There are cameras inside and outside the station that should clearly show what happened, and I still have the receipt from that visit. I chose not to press criminal charges at the time, but I expect Shell to take this matter extremely seriously. I request a full investigation using the available camera footage, the immediate termination of this employee based on his threatening and abusive conduct, and a formal written apology from Shell acknowledging both the incident and the failure to follow up on my repeated reports. I also ask that Shell address how it will prevent similar threats and intimidation of customers at this location in the future.
The first experience was last month, when he botched up my transaction and had to run my card multiple times before he got it right. It seemed suspicious, but I chalked it up to gross incompetence. This time, he had something on his phone or digital device (either a show or a conversation on speaker phone) sitting behind the register playing loudly with expletives that customers could clearly hear. I said, "I'd like $**.** in gas and a pack of cigarettes." After he rung it up, I asked, "Could I have a receipt?" His response: "You could say please." I asked him to repeat himself. He said it again. I told him I don't need him to teach me manners. He responded, "I don't have to give you s***, then." He slammed a voided, blank receipt down on the counter and continued to speak aggressively. I responded in kind. He then came from around the counter like he was going to initiate a physical confrontation. I removed my glasses and prepared myself. He then stopped and said, "Wait outside 'till I finish with these customers!" I walked outside to pump my gas. Less than a minute later, he exited the building and approached my vehicle at Pump #2, stopping at about 7 meters and resumed yelling expletives at me, including, "B*** a*** m***! Come around the side of the building and I'll beat your a***!", and "Wait here and I'll send someone to deal with your a***!" He was also reaching in his pants as if he was concealing a weapon. So, not only is this employee a bumbling idiot, but also a bumbling idiot eager to engage in violence against a customer. I didn't have time to record his tirade before he walked back inside, but all of this should be on the security cameras. ______ UPDATE (August 24, 2026): After following up with Shell on three separate times, I have still not been contacted by the company, outside of an August 12th e-mail that assured me the reported incident has been escalated to the station's management. They also attempted to placate me with a code for $0.10 off per gallon on my next fuel purchase. The Reference/Report numbers include 9557496 (1st report), 9560466 (2nd report), and 9591938 (3rd report on August 20th). It is well past the 10 business days Shell requested to address this.
