Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Water-Resistant Phone Failed After 10 Seconds Underwater
On October 14, 2025, around 3:30 p.m., I accidentally dropped my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra into a pool while taking photos. The device comes with a water-resistance guarantee, which clearly states that it can withstand up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes. However, my phone was exposed to water for only about 10 seconds, and immediately afterward, the screen turned yellow and the device completely shut down within seconds — it hasn’t turned back on since. I’ve had the phone for less than 10 days, and this was the first issue I encountered.
I purchased the device from Teknosa, and I have the warranty documentation. The last four digits of my IMEI or customer number are 5954. I contacted Teknosa customer service, and they took the device for service. They told me I would need to wait 21 business days, and if it’s determined to be a manufacturing defect, it will be replaced with a new unit; otherwise, it will be repaired.
I do not accept that a device with an official water-resistance guarantee could malfunction after just a few seconds of exposure. I strongly believe this is a manufacturing defect, and I am requesting that my phone be replaced with a new one rather than repaired.
