Salomon X Ultra 5 Mid GORE-TEX Leaks Water in the Rain

On April 13, 2026, I purchased a pair of Salomon X Ultra 5 Mid GORE-TEX men's hiking boots from Themoosebay website. The original size was too small, so I exchanged them for one size larger at the Ataşehir store. After I started wearing the boots, I noticed moisture inside them during the very first rainfall. At first, I wasn't sure whether it was an isolated issue, so I tested them again later by walking on wet grass after it had rained. Even contact with the wet grass caused the inside of the boots to become damp. Experiencing this with boots advertised as GORE-TEX waterproof was extremely disappointing.

Because of this issue, I sent the boots to the company for inspection on May 20. After waiting 103 days, the boots were returned to me with a written statement claiming that no defect was found. Despite that conclusion, the exact same problem continues to occur every time I use the boots in wet conditions. Neither Themoosebay nor Salomon has provided a satisfactory explanation or a meaningful solution, even though I clearly described the issue and waited more than three months for the inspection process to be completed.

A product marketed with GORE-TEX waterproof technology should not allow moisture inside during the first rain or after simply walking through wet grass. This performance falls far below the expectations for a premium outdoor boot and defeats the purpose of purchasing a waterproof model. I believe these boots are defective and respectfully request a replacement with a new pair. I also hope Salomon will carefully review both the product and the lengthy warranty process so this issue can be resolved fairly and other customers do not experience the same problem.
