Royal Caribbean Far East Cruise and Land Tours Fell Short of Expectations

I joined Royal Caribbean’s Far East cruise starting on February 15, including land tours in Vietnam and Singapore. However, the experience was disappointing. In Vietnam, we learned onboard that the highlight, Nha Trang, was canceled, leaving only Ho Chi Minh City, which offered little of interest—just a post office and a monument. We spent most of the tour at a shopping mall after a 2.5-hour round trip, which felt like a waste. Had we known, we wouldn’t have bothered with a visa.

In Singapore, the inefficiency worsened. On the first day, we stood for two hours waiting to exit the ship due to passport control, with no departures until 4 PM. The itinerary included Orchard Road malls and a few landmarks, but key attractions like Gardens by the Bay's rainforests and Sentosa were skipped. Half of the two days were wasted in malls, despite better alternatives like boat tours, museums, or even time at the renowned airport.

The guide's poor planning made things worse—missed light shows, unclear directions, and a lack of consideration. With the freezing air conditioning on buses and the ship, several of us got sick. While the Thai portion of the trip was better, the cruise overall felt like a mix of mall hopping and mismanagement.

For a tour costing $200 per day, the value was severely lacking. Vietnam's natural beauty and Singapore's rich attractions were largely overlooked, leaving us with a disorganized and disappointing experience. I request a review of the tour planning and compensation for the subpar service provided.
