Philips TV Software Update Broke Google and YouTube Access
I have been using my Philips 49PUS7101 television for approximately eight years. However, after performing the most recent software update and a system reset, I began experiencing serious problems accessing the applications on the device. Updates are normally supposed to fix existing issues, but after this update, I can no longer access key apps such as Google and YouTube. I am not even able to check whether other applications are affected. After attempting to resolve the issue on my own, I contacted both the authorized service center and Philips headquarters. The service center stated that such problems can occur after updates and even said, “You shouldn’t have updated it,” effectively avoiding responsibility. Philips headquarters merely acknowledged that some applications may experience issues and failed to provide any concrete solution. I originally purchased this product as a smart TV that allowed access to applications like Google and YouTube, and the fact that these core features are now unusable is unacceptable from a consumer standpoint. Although my device is no longer under warranty, it is clear that this is not a hardware failure but entirely a software and update-related issue. I do not have the financial means to buy a new television, and rendering my existing product practically unusable due to a software update is unethical. I am requesting that Philips restore my television to its previous working state, reinstate access to Google and YouTube, or fix the software issue free of charge. Purchasing a Philips TV has now turned into a complete regret for me, and I want this issue resolved as soon as possible.
