My Philips TV Became Unusable After Faulty Software Update

After a recent automatic software update, my Philips 50PUS8505/62 Android TV became completely unusable. Immediately after the update, the TV failed to turn on and remained stuck on the Philips logo. Through my research, I discovered that this issue is not unique to my device—it is affecting many Philips TV users across Turkey in exactly the same way. When I contacted customer service, I was directed to a service center and told that the update would incur a fee. However, this issue clearly stems from a faulty software release by Philips and is not due to user error. Even though my device is out of warranty, rendering it unusable through a software update falls under the definition of a defective service according to consumer protection laws. I demand that this issue be resolved free of charge and that no fees be requested for repair or service. Otherwise, I will escalate the matter to the Consumer Arbitration Board and share it publicly on social media with supporting visuals and documents.
