My Yandex Go Driver Payment Ignored the Actual Taximeter Fare
At approximately 5:24 p.m. on July 31, 2026, I completed a Yandex Go trip from Sanayi Mahallesi to Beşiktaş Square in Istanbul. During heavy traffic, the app’s suggested route showed a distance of approximately 10 kilometers and an estimated travel time of 50 minutes. To avoid getting stuck in traffic, I explained the situation to my passenger, and we agreed to take an alternative route that was faster and had better traffic flow.
As shown in the screenshot I submitted, the trip covered approximately 13.5 kilometers and took around 34–35 minutes. The taximeter displayed a fare of $18, but Yandex Go paid me only $12 because I did not follow the app’s suggested route. The significant difference was completely ignored. It is obvious that completing 13.5 kilometers in 34 minutes was more reasonable than spending 50 minutes traveling 10 kilometers in heavy traffic. Forcing drivers to follow the app’s route without considering actual traffic conditions inconveniences both drivers and passengers.
I am submitting this complaint primarily to inform other users about the situation. Yandex Go should review its policy of penalizing drivers for reasonable, passenger-approved route changes based on traffic conditions. I expect the company to develop a fairer system that protects drivers’ rights in these situations.
