Repairmen at Peugeot Puts the Blame of Damaged Windshield on Chemicals I Never Use

On July 3, 2023, I took my car to the Mepa Peugeot service center because the windshield and glass were broken. From inside the car, it looked like I was looking through foggy glass because the windshield was blurry. This was a new and unexpected problem for me, since I've been driving for 25 years and never had a problem like this before. When I got there, a technician came up to me and asked if I had washed the car. I was surprised by the question, and I couldn't wait to hear what they had to say. I made sure I washed the car, but I didn't use a brush. After that, the technician laughed and said something about the foam. Even after showing them the problem again, they said it wasn't their fault, showing that they didn't really understand what was going on. They finally took me to the area where people wait and talked to someone who said they were an expert. I heard them talking from a distance, and when they came back, they told me that they had broken the glass by wiping it with a chemical, which meant that insurance wouldn't cover it. When I asked what tests were done to come to this conclusion, I was surprised to hear that their technician had the right eyesight and experience to come to this conclusion. I thought they were making fun of me. Even though the glass was broken and could have been sent back for warranty coverage, they insisted that it had a scratch on it. I looked at the supposed scratch and found that it was just dust, which is something that every car has. This whole thing was very upsetting because I felt laughed at and put down. It doesn't look good for the Peugeot brand to have people in these positions who aren't professional or knowledgable. I'll let the people who read this complaint decide how to understand this event. Every professional and expert I talked to about this matter agreed that my actions had nothing to do with the problems. I hope this complaint gets to Peugeot Turkey, and I'm looking forward to hearing back from someone in charge. If they think it's necessary, I'm willing to have my car go through a chemical test. Also, based on the advice I got, I think my insurance and traffic laws give me the right to a free glass replacement, which I would like to look into.

Hello again, On 06.07.2023, I went back to the Mepa Peugeot service. Deputy lobby manager Mr. E**** welcomed me, and we went back to the vehicle with the technician Mr. T**** who checked the window. I received more detailed information, although my issue still wasn't resolved. However, I would like to thank Mr. T**** and Mr. E**** for their attention, patience, and knowledge. When I listened to them in more detail, I learned that there is a mica inside the window to block sunlight and enhance the quality of the window. This mica works similarly to the protective film stuck on phone screens. Our technician mentioned that this mica might have been exposed to sunlight, or to hot and cold conditions, which could have multiple reasons. This exposure might have caused internal wrinkling or expansion, leading to a distortion in the view when looking through the window from the inside. I thank them again for the information. I request a replacement from Mepa Peugeot in this regard. What could be my fault in this situation? How could I have caused this damage? Additionally, it's important to note that Peugeot Turkey, which is reviewing the issue through photos, cannot make an objective assessment without seeing the window in person. The distortion is only visible when looking out from the inside in detail, so it cannot be seen in photos. I am seeking valuable support from Mepa Peugeot for the evaluation of this situation and for the replacement of the window in terms of customer satisfaction.
