Pegasus Airlines İs Not Refunding Me More Than 10,000 TL

On Sunday, 31 May 2026, I purchased three Pegasus Airlines tickets via the Pegasus mobile app for the Bodrum – Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen route, with PNR number 2218A1, for myself, my wife and my disabled child. I paid a total of 15,273 TL for these tickets. Due to my disabled child’s illness, I was forced to change the flight to an earlier date, Wednesday, 27 May 2026, that is, four days before the original flight. The tickets I changed to for 27 May 2026 on the same Bodrum – Sabiha Gökçen route did not even cost 1,500 TL per person; the total for three people was under 5,000 TL. In other words, there was a price difference of more than 10,000 TL between the first tickets I bought and the cheaper tickets I had to switch to, so I was clearly entitled to a refund of this difference. All relevant information, including my child’s health card and the ticket invoices, is already available with Pegasus Airlines. Despite this, when I contacted Pegasus Airlines Customer Service many times and explained my special situation, my status as the father of a disabled child and my justified refund request, I was told that the entire difference between the first ticket and the new ticket is taken as a “penalty fee”, regardless of whether that difference is 1 TL or 10,000 TL. In addition, in my written application via e‑mail to [email protected], I opened a complaint record numbered 149446** and again requested a refund of this substantial difference. The response I received was that, based on their rules, no refund of any amount would be made under any circumstances. I find this practice extremely unfair and disproportionate. I was not informed in a clear and understandable way of such an extreme rule, and I was certainly not aware that, in a case where the new flight is much cheaper, the entire difference would be taken from the passenger as a penalty. I can accept a reasonable ticket change fee, but it is neither fair nor humane for an airline to take over 10,000 TL as a so‑called penalty when the new tickets are significantly cheaper. As a family with a disabled child, our lives are already difficult and our financial means are limited. Pegasus Airlines should not make our already challenging life even harder with such an inflexible and unfair practice. I request that the price difference of over 10,000 TL between the original tickets and the cheaper tickets dated 27 May 2026 be fully refunded to my original payment method, taking into account both my special family situation and the principle of fairness. I am making this request primarily on behalf of my disabled son, whose needs I am trying to meet under difficult conditions.
