Pegasus Airlines Considers Broken Wheel of a Suitcase as Minor Damage
On 25.06.2023, on the Erzincan Yıldırım Akbulut Airport-Sabiha Gökçen Airport flight, the wheel of my suitcase, which I delivered at the airport, was broken. Knowing that I can legally make an application to the airline company within 7 days, I called the Pegasus call center by phone on 30.06.2023 and was told to take photos of my suitcase and send them to them via a reply to the e-mail I received. I took a photo of the broken wheel and sent it to them. In the e-mail sent to me today, they wrote that the breakage was deemed to be minor damage within the framework of the rules set by IATA. - Minor abrasion, hole, cut - Slight dampness, wetting - Wheel, handle, strap, internal mechanism fracture, zipper damage - Damage caused by poorly packed luggage and weight - The above-mentioned damages are considered minor damage. So what will happen? Does my suitcase have to burn? Or was it supposed to split in half? I received a broken suitcase from you, which I gave to you intact. Today, a medium-sized suitcase costs around 1.000 ₺. Let's pass the money, why doesn't Pegasus stand behind its mistake? Do the obligations on flights only apply to passengers? I wonder why Pegasus does not fulfill these obligations.
