During our Ankara–Nicosia and Nicosia–Ankara flights with Pegasus Airlines, my suitcase was damaged, yet our claim was rejected despite submitting a formal report. On our first flight to Nicosia, one of the suitcase wheels was broken, which we photographed and reported at Ercan Airport. During the return flight to Ankara, while handing in our luggage at the counter, we noticed the same wheel had been further damaged and asked the staff what steps to take. They informed us that we could file a report either at the airport or online. Since we had already reported the wheel damage from the first flight, they noted it as “damaged baggage.” However, Pegasus later rejected our claim, stating that the luggage had been previously damaged. When we arrived in Ankara, we saw that the wheel was completely broken, the suitcase was torn in the same area, and a second wheel had also detached. We documented everything with photos. Their rejection was based on our initial statement that the luggage was damaged, even though it was Pegasus that caused the damage. I reviewed my home security footage and confirmed that the suitcase was completely intact before the trip. This was a brand-new suitcase used for the first time, and it was damaged by the airline. I am filing a formal complaint against Pegasus Airlines and request compensation for the damage. All related photos are attached, and I kindly ask that the necessary action be taken.
