Nike Shoes Caused Strong Odor After Only Four Wears and Store Denied My Claim

December 21, 2025 10:56 AM52

About 20 days ago, I bought a pair of Nike athletic shoes for my son from the FLO store at Point Bornova in İzmir. We chose this product because we believed it was guaranteed and high quality, but even though my son wore the shoes only four times, they caused an extremely strong odor on his feet. Because of this, I went to the store on December 18 and explained the situation. After a lot of pushing and effort, they agreed to open an inspection case, but they only took photos of the shoes that have the odor issue and then gave the product back to me. The idea that they can identify a problem like odor—which you can really only evaluate by physically inspecting the actual item—based only on photos, and that this is “solved with AI,” did not seem logical or convincing to me. Today, I received a message saying, “Your request has been rejected.” From a well-known brand like Nike and a major retailer like FLO, I expected a more careful and customer-focused approach—especially on an issue that affects a child’s health. The receipt barcode number for the product is 43350032311648030047. I request that the shoes be reviewed again and that this time the inspection be done properly, in person, and in detail, taking this serious odor problem into account. As a result, I am requesting either a full refund or an exchange for another product that is in good condition and does not cause odor.
