I Got Food Poisoning After Eating Frozen Salmon From Metro Market
On September 19, 2025, at around 15:00, we purchased two 800-gram packs of sliced frozen salmon (P.N: 200405119115, expiration date 06.11.2026) from İzmir Gaziemir Metro Market. We brought the products home in a cold chain carrying bag, about 10 minutes away, and stored them under proper conditions. On the evening of October 1, my pregnant wife and I ate the salmon. There were no signs of spoilage on the packaging or appearance of the products. Later that night, we both developed nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. As our condition worsened, we went to the emergency room, where we were diagnosed with “food poisoning.” Since there was no obstetrician at the hospital, we also had to visit emergency services at other hospitals. We were very worried for my pregnant wife and our baby, and we faced a serious health risk. We tried to contact Metro Market customer service but could not file a report or receive any response. I am requesting compensation for the grievance we experienced, a refund for the product, and coverage of our medical expenses. I especially expect this matter to be handled with seriousness due to the health risk faced by my pregnant wife and our baby.
