Meetup Charged Me Monthly Even Without an Active Account
I couldn't even use my Meetup subscription, but they kept charging me every month. I couldn't log in, there were no active groups, and I couldn't manage or cancel anything. In short, I didn't have an account. But they were still charging me for some reason. It was a hassle to get in touch with their assistance. You can't talk to a real person unless you're logged in, which I couldn't do. I sent a long complaint and even made a video showing how hard it was to cancel, but all I got back were generic assistance articles that I had to be logged in to see. The only way I could halt the charges was to dispute the payments with my bank. They gave me my money back, not Meetup. Meetup never accepted responsibility or even answered correctly.
