I Got Charged for Meetup Plus and Was Denied a Refund
Even though I canceled my Meetup+ monthly subscription right away and didn't use the program, I still had to pay $9.99. I asked for a refund, but Meetup said no right away. They said their policy doesn't allow refunds for monthly plans. The trouble is, they don't tell you that right away. When you check out or hit subscribe, there isn't a clear message regarding it. It looks like they don't want you to see their return policy, because it's buried deep in their assistance area. And to make things worse, they only email you the link to the refund policy after you've already been charged and complained. It seems devious and unjust.
