I Face an Unexplained Deposit Deduction from Europcar Austria — $80 Withheld Without Reason
Between July 19 and July 25, 2025, I rented a Skoda Scala from Europcar at Linz Airport, Austria. I paid all rental fees by credit card, and a deposit of $1,117 was held on my card. I returned the vehicle on time, without any damage, missing fuel, or delay, fully meeting all my rental obligations.
However, after returning the car, approximately $80 (around 3,400 TL) was deducted from my deposit without any explanation, and the remaining amount was refunded. When I called the company to ask why the deposit was partially withheld, I was given no reason or documentation, such as a receipt or invoice. To make matters worse, the customer service representative hung up on me, and my emails have gone unanswered.
I am extremely disappointed by this unprofessional conduct from a supposedly reputable company. I request an immediate refund of the $80 deduction and a written explanation for why this charge was made without any justification.
