I’ve been using the La Roche-Posay Effaclar facial cleansing gel, expecting great results since I have combination skin and this product is highly recommended. But unfortunately, it didn’t suit my skin at all. After just a few uses, I noticed dryness and flaking around my lips and the sides of my nose.
Even after applying moisturizer, the flaking around my nose slightly improved, but the peeling near my lips hasn’t gone away. It’s uncomfortable, especially considering this product is marketed as being gentle and effective for oily and combination skin types.
Thankfully, I only purchased the small-sized version to try it out. Had I bought the full-size product, I would have been even more disappointed.
La Roche-Posay, please review the formulation of this cleanser and be transparent about potential side effects. It clearly doesn’t work well for all combination skin, and this should be made clear on the label. Not everyone has the same skin tolerance—your top-rated products should live up to their claims without causing irritation.
