Dyson V15 Detect Cyclone Rubber Seals Failed After One Year
I purchased my Dyson V15 Detect directly from the Dyson Türkiye website in March 2025. After approximately one year of normal household use, the rubber seals inside the cyclone section began to wear out and break apart.
As the rubber seals deteriorated and detached, gaps formed inside the cyclone unit. As clearly shown in the videos I shared with customer service, these gaps started pulling in air and vacuuming incorrectly instead of directing suction through the proper airflow channel. In addition to negatively affecting suction performance, this issue also seriously damages the appearance and perceived quality of the product.
In April 2026, I contacted Dyson customer service through the Dyson mobile app online chat and also sent detailed photos and videos via WhatsApp to demonstrate the worn and broken rubber seals and the resulting suction problem. Despite the device still being under warranty, I was informed that this issue is considered “normal” for all Dyson V-series cordless vacuum cleaners and that it is not covered under warranty, meaning no repair or replacement support would be provided.
I find it completely unacceptable that such a critical structural component inside the cyclone unit can wear out and fail within roughly one year of standard use, only for Dyson to classify this as a normal condition outside warranty coverage. I expect Dyson to stand behind both its products and its premium brand reputation.
I request that the cyclone unit of my Dyson V15 Detect be repaired free of charge or replaced entirely under warranty so the vacuum can function properly again. I also believe potential buyers of Dyson V-series products should be clearly informed about the possibility of this type of defect and how Dyson intends to handle it under warranty coverage. I expect Dyson Türkiye to review and improve its approach toward customers experiencing similar problems.
