On 12/11/2025, I purchased a jacket from the Kappa store located in Erzurum Forum Shopping Mall. Although I used the product under normal daily conditions, within a short period of time the stitching on the sleeve area started coming apart and unraveling. The damage appeared as multiple threads loosening and separating directly from the seam, which clearly indicates a manufacturing or stitching defect rather than user-related damage.
On 02/28/2026, I delivered the jacket to the Kappa store at Erzurum Forum AVM for inspection under warranty, and the case was registered with receipt number 15-R-7-1544. However, the review result I received simply stated “damage caused by usage” without providing any concrete technical explanation, and my request for a refund or replacement was rejected.
Since the defect appeared after only a short period of normal use, I believe the product qualifies as a defective good under Turkish Consumer Protection Law No. 6502. In addition, according to the law, defects appearing within the first six months place the burden of proof on the seller, not the consumer.
The company’s evaluation was vague and insufficient, and my objection regarding a manufacturing defect was not properly considered. For this jacket, which should be evaluated as a defective product, I primarily request a full refund. If a refund is not possible, I request either a replacement product or a free repair. I also ask for my complaint and request to be reviewed again carefully and for a detailed response to be provided to me.
