IndiGo Airlines Seized My Power Bank Without Prior Notice
On July 1, 2024, I flew from Istanbul to Phuket with a layover in Delhi via IndiGo Airlines. I checked in my personal belongings in Istanbul, including my power bank, which is very valuable to me. No one in Istanbul warned me about restrictions regarding carrying power banks through Delhi or any specific rules I should be aware of.
During my 4-hour layover at Indira Gandhi International Airport, I received no emails or notifications about my baggage. While connected to the internet, I didn’t receive any alerts about the issue. Shortly before boarding, a female staff member approached me and led me to someone who remotely opened my luggage via camera. When I asked to retrieve my belongings, I was told I’d miss my flight if I did so.
I inquired why I wasn’t informed earlier, and they insisted they tried to contact me. However, I received no emails or meaningful communication. I requested the return of my power bank to Phuket or Istanbul, but IndiGo staff refused to assist. This experience has left me deeply dissatisfied. I demand that my power bank be returned immediately, as the lack of communication and assistance is unacceptable.
