Unclean Room And Rude Stuff At Hotel Taksim Home

During my stay in a Superior Double Room at Hotel Taksim Home on 4 September 2026, I experienced several serious issues that I feel need to be formally reported. In the room we found two live cockroaches. When we informed the staff, instead of apologizing or taking responsibility, they spoke to us in a rude manner and said it was because we had not allowed housekeeping to clean the room that day. This reaction was extremely disappointing. A cockroach problem does not suddenly appear in a single day because housekeeping is skipped; this points to a hygiene and pest-control failure on the hotel’s side, and blaming the guest for it is unacceptable. In addition to the pest issue, there was a persistent bad odor in the bathroom throughout our stay, which made the room feel even less clean and comfortable. The room also appeared to be significantly smaller than advertised. It was listed as 29 m² when we booked, but in reality it was far smaller, and the overall impression was more like a budget hostel than a proper hotel, despite being marketed and priced as a hotel. To be fair, there were some positive aspects. The check-in staff were helpful, arranged an extra bed for us without an additional charge, and when we skipped breakfast they kindly brought it to our room. I appreciated these gestures. However, these positives do not compensate for finding live cockroaches in the room and then being blamed for it instead of receiving a sincere apology and prompt action. I request that the hotel management take this matter seriously, review their pest-control and hygiene standards, and retrain staff on how to respond to such complaints. As a resolution, I expect a clear written apology and a partial or full refund for this stay, given the unacceptable conditions and the way the situation was handled.
