I Was Charged ₺46000 by Green Motion for Minor Car Damage

On July 21, 2025, I rented a car from the Green Motion Istanbul Airport dealership (Reservation No: 11F09A). That same day, I had an accident that caused damage approximately 30 cm long and 2 mm deep, extending from the right rear door to the right rear fender. While the repair cost for such damage would be about ₺5,000 elsewhere, the company charged me a total of ₺46,073—₺19,500 for repairs and ₺26,573 deducted from my credit card as “loss of value.” After the accident, I prepared a damage report and submitted it to the company, but they provided no documentation for the loss of value deduction. I was not given sufficient information about insurance during the rental; I was only told, “If there’s an accident, just write a report and leave it in the dashboard; that’s enough.” Despite submitting the report, it was deemed invalid and ignored. I called customer service multiple times to appeal, but they said the amount had already been charged to my card and could not be changed. This was my first time renting from this company, and I have never had such an issue with other rental companies. I am willing to pay what I rightfully owe, but I refuse to accept an exorbitant charge like ₺46,000. As someone earning minimum wage, I do not want to pay such a high amount and I demand a refund of the excess, along with compensation for the injustice I have experienced.

The solution you provided to me was that I would be given a higher segment vehicle in my next car rental. With such a solution, I do not want to rent a car from there again, and ultimately, this is not a solution for me and does not resolve my grievance. It does not compensate for my loss or provide the value for the money taken from me. This was not my request from you. I am requesting that the excessive damage charge applied to me be reduced and that a partial refund be issued. Could you please review the matter again?

I previously filed a complaint about an issue I experienced. They officially responded just for show, saying 'we are immediately starting an investigation to turn your complaint into satisfaction.' They kept me waiting for days. After repeatedly calling them, the solution they offered was to provide me with a higher segment vehicle on my next rental. But this is not a solution to my problem. I want the hard-earned money that was unjustly taken from me. No company charges more than twice the minimum wage for a scratch; they took 46,000 lira from me even though I provided a report. If they admitted their mistake and offered such an option for my satisfaction, they should correct this and refund my money. Don’t expect me to rent a car from such a company again after charging me such an exorbitant damage fee. Please give me my money back; I want my money returned, even if not all of it, at least the amount for the damage. I already don’t want to pay for the loss of value of a car that had scratches on the sides when I received it. Can’t such a big company insure their vehicles, that they are trying to charge us for this? Please, I want my grievance to be resolved as soon as possible.
