I Received My Global Blue VAT Refund in USD Instead of Euro Without My Consent

I made several purchases in Europe where all transactions were completed in Euro, and naturally, I expected my VAT refund from Global Blue to be paid back in the same currency—Euro. The refund documents clearly stated that the amount would be returned in Euro. However, when I checked my bank account, I was shocked to see that the refund was deposited in USD instead, without any notification or request for my approval.
This not only affected the total amount I received due to unfavorable conversion rates and hidden fees, but it also made me lose all trust in Global Blue's system. As a company operating on a global scale, how can they justify switching currencies without informing the customer? This practice feels deceptive and unprofessional.
There should be a legal and transparent process for handling currency-related matters in tax refunds. Customers deserve to be paid in the currency they were promised—not whatever is convenient for the company. From now on, I will only consider cash refunds and avoid using Global Blue altogether. I demand a full explanation and the difference refunded to me in Euro.
