I Received My Global Blue Tax Refund in USD Instead of EUR and Lost Money
I completed my tax-free refund process at Hannover Airport for purchases I made abroad. At the Global Blue office, I was given a receipt stating that I would receive a refund of €50. However, when I checked my bank account, I saw that the refund was issued in USD—specifically $50.27—and converted into ₺ at my bank’s exchange rate.
Why wasn’t the refund processed in euros as originally stated? I was never informed that the payment would be made in another currency. This unexpected conversion resulted in a loss due to exchange rate differences. I want to understand the reasoning behind this switch and the associated cut in my refund.
I request Global Blue to issue the correct amount in euros or compensate the difference. This is not the level of transparency and fairness I expected from an international tax refund company. Please fix this issue as soon as possible.
