GE Appliances Washer Malfunction And Customer Service Complaint
I have a GE front loader washer that stopped working three years after I bought it. I waited on hold for more than 40 minutes before getting through to GE customer service, and they still didn't answer. It took an extra hour and fifteen minutes, but I was able to go through after trying again an hour later. The following week, we had an appointment set up. Just to make a show of being busy, the expert who came out to fix the computer wasted no time diagnosing that the motherboard was dead and needed replacing. The item cost $340 and labor was $140. There is no question that a washing machine should be fixed at no cost, regardless of whether the warranty has expired, or if it breaks down within three years. This is because it is almost certainly a manufacturing defect. On top of that, these kinds of problems have been on the rise because of the pandemic's poor testing and quality control. The machine was rendered useless when I turned down the offer. It appeared more prudent to place an order for a replacement. Worst of all, they wanted $120 simply to figure out what was wrong. You should not buy GE items at all costs; they are worthless junk.
