The pipe on my Dyson V12 vacuum broke at the joint, and since I don’t have another vacuum, I had to temporarily tape it to continue daily cleaning. When I contacted customer service, I was shocked to hear that the warranty wouldn’t cover the issue because I had already taped the pipe. They told me if I hadn’t intervened, it would have been covered, but because I showed them the issue with the tape on, it’s not eligible for warranty service. Even if I order or wait for a replacement, it would take 20 days, during which I’d need to tape it again. Being honest about the problem backfired completely. This experience with Dyson’s warranty service has been disappointing and unexpected. I hope Dyson reconsiders its approach and resolves this issue. Let this be a lesson for everyone.
