I Canceled My Disney+ Subscription Due to Excessive Ads During Shows

May 9, 2025 6:27 AM32

I was watching How I Met Your Mother on Disney+, and I couldn't believe the ad volume. In a single 40-minute episode, I had to sit through three commercial breaks, each lasting around two minutes. That’s six full minutes of ads for a paid subscription—absolutely unacceptable.

When I stream shows on free websites, I might get a 15-second ad at the beginning—nothing more. Even though I could easily find the same series online for free, I chose to support the platform by watching it on Disney+. But what’s the point of paying if I still have to endure constant interruptions like I’m watching basic cable?

It feels like I'm paying just to be advertised to. That’s not the streaming experience I signed up for. I’ve already canceled my subscription, and unless Disney+ seriously rethinks this ad strategy, I won’t be coming back.
