Clinicana Hair Transplant Malpractice And Excess Graft Loss

I had a hair transplant operation at Clinicana Hair Transplant Center and Esthetic Surgeries, located inside Acibadem Health Group Hospital in Istanbul, on 22/01/2026. I am writing because I am extremely dissatisfied with both the medical quality of the procedure and the way my case has been handled since then, to the extent that I consider it medical negligence and malpractice. The planning and consultation session before surgery was very rushed and careless, lasting around 10–15 minutes, without any meaningful assessment tools or equipment being used, so a proper evaluation of my case was impossible. During the operation itself, all steps, including the incisions, were performed entirely by technicians, and throughout the whole surgery no licensed plastic surgeon or medical doctor entered the room to supervise them. After the operation, the post‑operative care and prescriptions (antibiotics, prednisolone, blood‑circulation medication and Minoxidil) were managed not by a physician but by the clinic’s “medical manager”, who is in fact a pharmacist acting as if in the role of a doctor. I was also pushed to start Minoxidil at an inappropriately early stage, as early as day two after surgery, which in my view is against accepted medical standards. According to the medical report I received by email after the surgery, approximately 3,750 grafts were extracted, while roughly 2,750 would have been sufficient. This excessive extraction has led to irreversible and permanent loss of donor grafts, with approximately 1,000–1,250 grafts wasted. Because of tissue trauma caused by badly performed incisions by technicians without any doctor’s supervision, I experienced serious post‑operative complications that lasted for about two months, during which I lost many grafts and suffered a great deal physically. The hairline that was created is too low and unnatural for my age, more like a juvenile hairline, and it ignores my facial proportions. It was placed only about 6 cm above the mid‑eyebrow point (glabella), which clearly reflects poor planning and design during the rushed consultation session, despite my being promised a natural result and that my facial proportions would be taken into account. The existing obvious asymmetry on the right side of my hairline and recession was not corrected, leaving a visible and public deformity. To fix this unnatural juvenile hairline, the wasted grafts and the asymmetry on the right side, I now need to undergo a complex and expensive corrective procedure, and even then I will not be able to properly see the results for another two years. Because of post‑operative complications and fear for my health, I had to travel back to my country and then return to Istanbul, and I ended up being forced to stay there for about a month. This resulted in significant unexpected hotel and daily living expenses on top of the surgery cost. I paid 2,500 euros in cash directly to the clinic for this operation, and since the day of the surgery I have been suffering from disruption of my life, physical and psychological pain, severe loss of self‑confidence, emotional distress, and a long delay in achieving the aesthetic result I was hoping for. I contacted Clinicana many times about these issues, but I have not received any proper or solution‑oriented response; instead, I feel they are only trying to gain time so that I get tired and give up. Given the negligent planning, lack of physician supervision, technicians performing the entire operation, a pharmacist effectively acting as a doctor, the excessive and unnecessary graft extraction, the too‑low and unnatural hairline, the failure to correct clear asymmetry, the two‑month complications and lost grafts, and the severe physical, aesthetic, financial and moral damage I have suffered, I consider the service I received to be seriously defective and an example of medical negligence and malpractice. I request a full refund of the 2,500 euros I paid, full coverage of the costs of corrective surgery at an independent and competent clinic, and compensation for the approximately 1,000–1,250 wasted grafts and for the severe physical and moral damages I have endured, including the extra expenses caused by my extended stay in Istanbul. I expect Clinicana to take responsibility for this situation and to provide a clear, written and concrete solution as soon as possible.
