Concerns About Counterfeit Castrol Edge Oil Purchased Online
For 22 years, I have exclusively used Castrol Edge oil in my vehicle and have recommended it to everyone. I even had discussions with a service center regarding using other brands to maintain my warranty. This year, I purchased oil online for the first time. While buying filters and other products from a dealer in Tuzla, I was informed that the new packaged Castrol Edge 5-liter bottle I bought had not yet been released in the market and that due to its low price, I should consider the possibility of it being counterfeit.
This raised my suspicions. I then watched various videos on YouTube discussing counterfeiting and authenticity, but I couldn't reach a conclusion. I visited three different Castrol dealers to have the packaging opened and input the codes into their system. One dealer indicated that one of the products was genuine, while the others might be counterfeit, but we could not find any results in the system.
Following this, I contacted Castrol customer service. Despite two months passing and two separate conversations, I am still waiting for a response. It seems they have not been able to assist me. As a long-time Castrol user, I feel that I have now become a lost customer. I have just learned about the prevalence of counterfeit Castrol products in the market. I will not take such a risk again.
