I Paid 70€ for Car Rental on Booking.com but Had to Pay 400€ Deposit for Different Drop-Off

I booked a rental car through Booking.com, planning to pick it up in Podgorica and return it in Tivat. The total payment shown in the system was 70€, and I paid that amount. However, when picking up the car, I was forced to pay a 200€ deposit for Podgorica and another 200€ for Tivat because they are different locations, totaling 400€ in deposits.

Now, the rental company tells me the 200€ is an extra charge for different drop-off locations and other fees. If that’s the case, then what was the 70€ I paid to Booking.com for? I demand an immediate refund of that payment. This feels like a scam and unfair profit-taking. Booking.com and the rental company need to resolve this now and stop misleading customers.
