Complaint About Booking.com Accommodation Service



On July 13 at 18:50, we flew to Lisbon with Pegasus Airlines (which was delayed by 1 hour and 10 minutes). We landed at Lisbon Airport at 22:05 local time. We informed the property owner of this time. We left a message in the voicemail of the property owner's number starting with +44 and wrote to Booking.com help through the platform. After waiting 3 hours and 10 minutes in the passport queue, we went to the property address using a car we called from the Bolt app. It was 01:15 at night. We entered the pin number at the building's intercom at the given address, but the door did not open. We were stranded in front of an abandoned building in a very desolate location at that hour of the night. We continuously left voice messages for the property owner and wrote to the Booking.com help center. We called the Booking.com call center number but couldn't reach anyone. We called another car from Bolt and went to a hotel near the city center using Google Maps. However, we couldn't find an available room, which was quite distressing. We walked around the area with our luggage for hours searching for a hotel and room. Finally, we found one available room at Hotel Alegria. It was around 03:00. We paid €224 for one night for two people, which was very expensive (I sent the invoice). The next morning, we called E***'s bank to report a suspicious transaction and canceled the card. The bank asked us for related documents, which E*** sent to the bank. Around 13:00 on July 14, we went back to Hotel Botanico and booked a room for 4 nights (since we couldn't find a place earlier). We paid a total of €736 for this hotel. Throughout our vacation, we couldn't reach the property owner or Booking.com. We returned on the night of July 18 and arrived in Ankara around 06:00 in the morning. Since July 19, I have been continuously having phone conversations with Booking.com. They asked for 5 days to contact the property owner. That period ended, and Booking.com couldn't reach the owner either. Yesterday, they asked me for the invoices of the other hotel stays, which I sent. However, today we received an email with no resolution. The outcome hasn't changed. I do not recommend using the Booking.com app.
