Booking.com Reservation At Aellia Hotel Leros Cost Me €201 Plus Extra Charges And No Breakfast

On August 21, 2025, I made a reservation through Booking.com at Aellia Hotel and Suites, Leros for a room with breakfast included. During the booking, I paid €201 in advance. However, upon arrival at the hotel, we were refused entry at the door and told we would need to pay an additional €180. This was completely unexpected and unacceptable.

We immediately contacted Booking.com, but instead of offering a real solution, they only expressed that they were “sorry” about the situation. The hotel management, on the other hand, denied responsibility and refused to assist us. By 5:00 PM, after hours of stress and confusion, we still had no resolution. In the end, we had no choice but to accept alternative accommodation in a nearby studio apartment for the extra fee.

Not only was this not the hotel we had booked, but the new place also did not include breakfast, even though our original reservation clearly stated breakfast was included. When we asked about it, we were treated with rudeness and dismissiveness. This completely ruined one full day of our three-day trip, leaving us exhausted and upset.

Adding to the frustration, just two days before our arrival, we had reconfirmed the reservation through Booking.com and were assured everything was fine. Yet when the problem occurred, Booking.com offered no meaningful support.

I am requesting proper compensation for this ordeal, specifically a 50% discount on my next Booking.com reservation as a gesture of goodwill. If this issue is not resolved, I will seriously reconsider ever using Booking.com again. Customers deserve reliability and protection, not extra charges, broken promises, and zero support.
