Booking.com Overbooking Issue – Venice Ca' Fontanea Canceled My Paid Reservation
On December 25, 2024, I booked a one-night stay for two people at Ca' Fontanea Hotel in Venice for March 1-2, 2025. However, just two days before my trip, the hotel canceled my fully paid reservation, citing overbooking. My confirmation number is 4882446743.
This last-minute cancellation forced me to scramble for another hotel, resulting in higher costs due to limited availability. It’s completely unacceptable that a reservation paid for two months in advance can be canceled so close to the check-in date.
I demand a full refund for my original booking, as well as reimbursement for the price difference I had to pay for a new hotel, as stated in the email I received from Booking.com customer service. Booking.com, honor your policies and compensate me for this inconvenience.
