BiTaksi Driver Asked for Extra Money
On 19.01.2026 at 18:44, I requested a BiTaksi from Great Fortune Design and Spa Hotel in Fatih to Sabiha Gökçen Airport. The app showed a price in the range of approximately 1,600–2,000 TL for this trip. After starting the ride with my young daughter, the driver told me that I had to pay him 3,000 TL, almost double the price shown in the app. When I refused to pay this extra amount and said I would only pay what the app indicated, the driver threatened that if I did not accept, he would drive to Sabiha Airport via the bridge, it would take about two hours, and I would miss my flight. Then he stopped the car about 500 meters away from my hotel and left us there in the middle of the route, so I had to get out of the taxi with my daughter and urgently look for another taxi to reach the airport and return to my country. I could not take a photo or record of the driver’s details in the stress of the moment, and did not contact support at that time because my only goal was to find another taxi and catch my flight. Later, other people told me that drivers do such things frequently, and this made me feel even more unsafe about using BiTaksi. I am sharing this incident so that BiTaksi takes it seriously, investigates rides from that time and location if possible, and takes necessary measures so that drivers working with the platform cannot lie to customers, threaten them, or demand extra money above the price shown in the app. My clear expectation is that BiTaksi ensures the safety and trust of its users and that such behavior is prevented in the future.
