Hello, We rented a car from AVIS on 26.08.2023. 5-10 minutes after renting the vehicle, we felt that there was a problem with the vehicle and took the vehicle back. We informed the authorities that we were going on a long road trip and that there was an issue with the engine speed. Despite explaining this, the authorities insisted that there was no problem with the vehicle. On the way back, while on the highway, our vehicle's warning lights suddenly came on, including the stop warning light, and the engine shut down. We had to pull over immediately on the highway. We requested roadside assistance support from AVIS, explaining that we were stranded in a highly dangerous location on the side of the highway and urgently needed help. They directed us to about 10 different people, and we had to repeatedly explain our problem from start to finish. During this process, we were in an extremely perilous situation, with vehicles passing by our car at an alarmingly close distance. We waited for help and a tow truck at this dangerous spot for approximately 3 hours. Roadside assistance later informed us that the problem was their fault and that AVIS would cover the towing fee. However, AVIS was unable to provide us with a replacement vehicle to continue our journey. As a result, they arranged for the tow truck to drop us off at a taxi stand, with the payment to be covered by AVIS. Subsequently, although we had paid our rental vehicle fee online, the payment was canceled, and a different amount was deducted from our card without our permission or knowledge. Additionally, they automatically withdrew the towing fee from our card without our consent. When we inquired about the reason for these transactions, they claimed that the vehicle had not broken down but had run out of gas. However, we had fuel in the car, and luckily, we had taken a photo of the fuel gauge at that moment. The picture clearly showed that we had enough gasoline. We shared this photo with AVIS via email, but we received no response. This experience ruined the last day of our holiday and exposed us to very dangerous situations on the highway. To make matters worse, they are now requesting additional payment from us, which we find absurd. I intend to share this incident widely and file complaints with all relevant authorities. I possess all the necessary information and records, and if required, I am prepared to pursue legal action.
