ASICS GEL-Quantum 360 VII Mesh Tears After 5 Months of Normal Use

I purchased a pair of ASICS GEL-Quantum 360 VII sneakers from the ASICS store at Zorlu Mall. Under normal daily use, I began experiencing an issue in the area near the pinky toe where the shoe naturally bends during walking. First, the mesh material started to fray after about three months, and by the fifth month, a visible tear had developed in that same area. For a shoe used properly and under normal conditions, deteriorating this quickly—especially at this price level—is not acceptable.
I paid approximately $172 for the shoes and, after experiencing the issue, sent them in for inspection. However, the result came back as “user error,” without any concrete explanation or detailed technical reasoning, and my request was denied. During this process, I followed up multiple times with both store staff and customer service, and I even escalated the issue by emailing the company’s headquarters in Japan. Despite all this, my requests for a refund or replacement were still rejected with the same “user error” response.
I believe that this tear, occurring in such a short time under normal use, is due to a manufacturing or material defect, and that labeling it as user error is unfair. I request that the product be re-evaluated objectively and thoroughly, and based on the findings, that I receive either a full refund or at least a replacement with a defect-free product.
