I recently made two separate purchases on Amazon.com, and both were handed over to Aramex for delivery. When I checked the Airbills, I found discrepancies: the Airbill from 24.09.2024 showed a shipping cost of 16.95 USD, and the one from 25.09.2024 showed 17.95 USD. Yet somehow, the two separate shipments were combined, bringing the total over the 30 EUR exemption threshold for customs. According to regulations, if total shipments within a month don’t exceed five items and 30 EUR, customs exemption should apply. However, Aramex reported the combined total as over 30 EUR.
To make matters worse, Aramex informed me that they don’t provide customs clearance services, meaning I’d have to arrange for this myself. What if I were living in a remote area? Isn’t express delivery supposed to include customs processing? I expect Amazon and Aramex to resolve these unfair charges and streamline the delivery process, including customs handling, as part of their service. This entire process has been frustrating and inconvenient.
