Faulty Sony WI-C310 from AliExpress: Denied Refund, Shipping Hassle

I bought these Sony WI-C310 wireless earbuds from AliExpress, but they ended up being defective. When I tried to give it back, they asked me to pay for the shipping. I was told to get in touch with the seller, who said I had to pay for the return shipping. I can't get ahold of customer service; they only send automated responses. I need to return the product right away and ask for a complete refund. I'm not going to suggest this site to my friends anymore.
