AJet Rejected Compensation Claim After Missed Connection on Single Ticket
I travelled with AJet on flight VF66 from Brussels Zaventem International Airport to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen on 16 June 2024, under reservation code 17548M and ticket number 2356684175429, issued in the name of Mohammad P***. Due to a significant delay on this first flight, I missed my second flight, even though both flights were purchased together as a single ticket. As a result, I had to stay overnight in Istanbul. AJet provided a hotel for approximately four hours, which was not sufficient for the whole night, and I also incurred additional expenses that would not have arisen without this disruption. Following this incident, I submitted a compensation claim to AJet, including a copy of my ticket clearly showing that both flights were part of the same booking. Despite this, my claim was rejected with the explanation that they could not find a second flight on my ticket. This statement is incorrect and ignores the documentation I have already provided. In line with EC261 and the circumstances described above, I am requesting the following: compensation of €600.00 under EC261, a refund of €111.40 for the unused flight segment, reimbursement of €10.86 for care expenses I had to cover myself, and statutory interest currently estimated at €9.71. To date I have not received any refund or payment from AJet regarding this disruption. I kindly request that my case be reassessed based on the actual ticket details and that the above amounts be paid to me without further delay.
