AJet Ankara–Erzurum Flight Delay And Diversion Complaint

On the AJet flight with reservation code 3M54LT B016, scheduled to depart on 26 January at 19:00 from Ankara to Erzurum, I experienced a serious grievance. Under normal conditions, we should have landed in Erzurum around 20:00, we were kept in the air until 22:00 on the grounds that there was fog in Erzurum, and then the aircraft landed in Rize instead. At Rize Airport, as passengers we were kept waiting for a long time standing, hungry and thirsty, without any area provided where we could rest. During this period, we were not given clear and satisfactory information. Although we had arranged all our plans according to the flight time, the uncertainty we experienced seriously disrupted our work and personal plans. Afterwards, we were sent to Erzurum by bus. Due to a health issue, I had specifically preferred air travel, yet I was forced into a long and exhausting journey by road. During the journey only a small cake was offered and not even water was provided. Despite the presence of women with children, elderly and disabled passengers on the bus, their basic needs were not met. We arrived in Erzurum at 05:30 in the morning. As a woman arriving at this hour, I had serious difficulties regarding transportation from the terminal. The entire process was physically and psychologically exhausting, and we experienced this grievance despite having paid for a comfortable and timely flight. When we spoke to the staff about the situation, we were told that there was nothing to be done, which further increased the feeling of being ignored as passengers. I believe that the disruptions experienced cannot be explained solely by weather conditions and that the process was managed in a disorganized manner that completely disregarded passenger rights and comfort. For these reasons, I request an official explanation regarding the grievance we experienced on this flight, and I also demand appropriate compensation and feedback for our material and moral losses and for the hardship we were subjected to during the entire process.
