On July 30, I made a reservation through the Airbnb mobile app using my Garanti Bank debit card, paying a total of ₺6,492.07. However, within just half an hour, the reservation was canceled. Despite the cancellation, the money I paid has not been refunded to my account. My reservation code is HMKTTN9P59.
Since then, I have contacted both my bank and Airbnb multiple times. My bank confirmed that the transaction was finalized, the payment was transferred to Airbnb, and that there is no block or pending authorization on my card. Airbnb, on the other hand, insists that they did not take the money, only placed a hold on it. I have the official payment receipt proving the charge, yet both sides keep shifting responsibility, leaving me stuck in the middle.
For days, I have been trapped in this back-and-forth with no solution, and my money remains in limbo. Experiencing such an issue with a company as large as Airbnb has seriously damaged my trust in their platform.
I demand that Airbnb immediately refund the ₺6,492.07 to my bank account. Customers should not be left without their money due to poor communication between Airbnb and financial institutions.
