I Waited 6 Days for Airbnb Refund After Instant Cancellation, ₺16,000 Still Missing

July 30, 2025 7:55 PM19

On July 22, while browsing listings on the Airbnb app, I was suddenly charged ₺16,000 from my registered bank card for a 3-night stay—even though I intended to pay with my credit card, not my debit card. Realizing the mistake immediately, I canceled the reservation within minutes and rebooked using the correct card.

Airbnb confirmed the cancellation by email and stated that the refund was processed. However, six days have passed, and the ₺16,000 has still not been credited back to my account. I contacted my bank (Yapı Kredi), and they told me that Airbnb has not yet completed the transaction on their end—the refund is still under “review.”

This is extremely frustrating. The cancellation was made instantly. Why is it taking nearly a week to refund an amount that was withdrawn in seconds? What exactly is Airbnb still "reviewing"?

I demand that Airbnb immediately complete the refund process. I should not have to pay double the cost for a 3-night stay due to technical delays or internal procedures. Please resolve this matter without further excuses or delays.
