On March 24, I booked a private house in Fethiye through Airbnb for a stay during the Kurban Bayramı (Eid al-Adha) holiday. Everything was confirmed, and I made my travel plans accordingly. But today—just three weeks before my trip—I received a message saying my reservation had been canceled.
The reason? They claimed the property lacked proper licensing from the Ministry of Tourism. Whether it’s the ministry, Airbnb, or the host to blame, I don’t know—but what I do know is that this last-minute cancellation has completely disrupted my holiday plans. Now, with the trip just weeks away, prices have skyrocketed, and finding a decent place at a reasonable rate is almost impossible.
Who is going to cover the financial and emotional toll of this? I made my plans in good faith, followed the process, and now I’m the one left scrambling.
Airbnb, I demand accountability and immediate action to compensate this inconvenience. I also urge you to prevent this from happening to other guests. I know I’m not alone in this—many others are facing the same issue. Please hear us and resolve this matter fairly.
