I booked round-trip tickets from İzmir to Tivat with Air Montenegro for June 5–9, 2025. The outbound flight went smoothly, but the return flight turned into a nightmare. My return was scheduled for June 9 at 10:30 AM from Tivat Airport. My wife, our 7-month-old baby, and I arrived at the airport at 8:30 AM, only to be told the flight had been moved to Podgorica Airport—80 km away, departing at 9:35 AM.
I was never properly notified. Air Montenegro claims they sent an email the day before, but I never saw it. Even if they had, how could they expect passengers with infants and luggage to reach another airport on such short notice?
Scrambling for a solution, I found a Podgorica–İzmir flight on June 10 at 17:30, and paid ₺20,000 for two tickets. We also spent ₺2,500 for an Airbnb stay and €140 on a taxi to Podgorica. Beyond financial losses, we missed a workday and lost a day of rest we had planned at home.
This ordeal cost us around ₺28,000, and I’ve already emailed the airline demanding a refund for our unused return tickets and compensation for the unnecessary hardship. I urge Air Montenegro to take full responsibility and refund these costs immediately.
