I visited Sofia, Bulgaria from May 17–19, 2025 for a short tourist trip. When I decided to extend my stay by one night, I quickly booked a hotel through the Agoda app. Unfortunately, the app auto-filled the reservation dates during the search, and I didn’t realize until later that the booking was made for June 8–9, not May 18–19 as I intended.
The moment I noticed this, I canceled the incorrect reservation and immediately rebooked the same hotel—Aurora Sofia Hotel—for the correct dates. I stayed there one night and checked out early the next morning to return to Turkey. But when I later checked my credit card statement, I saw I was still charged for the canceled June reservation.
I emailed the hotel, and they bluntly refused to refund the amount, claiming their policy does not allow refunds—even though I canceled well in advance and never used the room. Agoda, on the other hand, hasn’t even bothered to respond to my emails. There is no customer service line in Turkey and no one to speak to about this issue.
I find it completely unacceptable to be charged for a stay I never used, especially when I acted quickly to correct the booking error. Agoda, you must take responsibility for this situation and ensure I am refunded. Taking people’s money without providing any service is unethical. I demand that you process my refund immediately.
