Defective Supernova Rise 2, Wrong UltraBoost 5X - Size Exchange Denied

Adidas Supernova Rise 2 product is defective, and the UltraBoost 5X product was sent in the left 2 sole. I'm requesting an exchange, but they say I need to buy a different size for the exchange. Should I wear a different size shoe just because I was sent the wrong product? Also, if I wanted to buy a half size larger, they didn't have that size either. There's only one size that fits me, but they won't help me with the exchange. And they're making me suffer.
