I Got an Unsolicited WhatsApp Message from a US Number and I’m Concerned About Misuse

On May 16, 2025, at around 9:30 AM, I received an unexpected WhatsApp message from a number starting with +1 640, which I later confirmed to be a United States country code. I have no personal or professional connection to anyone in the U.S., nor have I ever communicated with anyone from this region.

This message was completely unsolicited, and it made me extremely uncomfortable and suspicious. I’m concerned that my phone number or WhatsApp account may have been exposed, misused, or linked to fraudulent activity without my knowledge or consent.

Let me be clear: if any unauthorized access, misuse of my account, or false debts are registered under my phone number, I will not accept any liability whatsoever. In that case, I hold WhatsApp fully responsible for the breach of privacy and potential consequences.

I expect WhatsApp to investigate this issue urgently, ensure my data is secure, and provide a proper explanation. Users should not be left vulnerable to unknown or international contact attempts without protection.
