My New Volkswagen Golf 8.5 Started Consuming Oil at 5,000 KM

In October 2024, I purchased a brand-new Volkswagen Golf 8.5 from the Erz Otomobil Volkswagen dealership in Aziziye, Erzurum. However, while the vehicle had only around 5,000 km on it, it began consuming oil.

Concerned about the issue, I took the car to the authorized service center. They performed tests and told me there was no problem with the vehicle, then simply added oil and returned the car to me. Shortly afterward, the vehicle started losing oil again, making it very clear that this was not a normal situation.

I took the vehicle back to the service center once more. Again, they performed tests and once again claimed that there was “no issue” with the car. Around 15,000 km, the vehicle displayed another oil warning. The car was tested yet again, and despite the repeated warnings and ongoing oil loss, I was once more told there was no fault.

At the first scheduled maintenance, I was told that the issue would improve after service. However, even after maintenance, the vehicle continued consuming oil.

At the point where I informed the dealership that I would also file a formal complaint, the vehicle then began displaying coolant/antifreeze warnings. I filled the coolant to the maximum level myself, but only two days later the level had dropped again. When I returned to the service center, I once again received the same response: “there is no problem.”

Now, with only a few months remaining before the vehicle’s warranty expires, I cannot understand how the same recurring issues continue to happen while no concrete repair or solution is being provided. Frankly, the situation gives the impression that the dealership and service center are simply waiting for the warranty period to end instead of properly addressing the problem. I do not believe this process has been handled honestly or transparently.

I have already consulted with my lawyer and am preparing to begin legal proceedings regarding this matter.

The repeated oil consumption and coolant loss clearly indicate that there is a serious engine-related problem with my vehicle. At this stage, even if a replacement engine were offered, I would no longer accept it because my trust in the vehicle has been completely destroyed.

My request is for the complete replacement of my vehicle and full compensation for the inconvenience, stress, and ongoing issues I have experienced throughout this process.
